CRIME ALERT- Public Notification

CrimeALERT: Burglary/Assault – City of Ithaca On Feb. 21, 2023, at approximately midnight, the Cornell University Police Department received a report of an attempted burglary resulting in an aggravated assault that occurred in the 500 block of East State Street in Ithaca, NY. The Ithaca Police Department is investigating the incident. At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Feb. 20, 2023, a female resident was forced into her apartment by an unknown male and was stabbed after trying to fight back. The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, wearing jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and a blue surgical mask. It is unknown what direction the suspect fled. The investigation is continuing.
