ITHACA, N.Y. — On June 9, the Cornell University Police Department arrested Edward C. Magee, 63, of Ithaca, on charges of second-degree menacing, a Class A misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 5 at approximately 1:05 a.m. on a TCAT bus, during which Magee displayed a knife in a threatening manner toward a Cornell University student.

Following his arrest, Magee was transferred to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division for the Centralized Arraignment Program.

Cornell Police urge members of the campus and surrounding community to immediately report any suspected criminal activity by calling 911 or using the Rave Guardian app.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
