Child Safety Seat inspections and installations are by appointment only.

You can make an appointment by calling (607) 255-7305 or (607-255-7404). In addition, there will be an annual Child Safety Seat Check event held at the University where anyone from the community can attend. Please contact Officer Vancleef or Office Condzella for future dates and times of the scheduled event.

For those attending any Child Safety Seat Checks please be aware that if the Child Passenger Safety Technician inspecting the safety seat discovers the seat is on the federal recall list or has been found to be expired, the parent or caregiver will be responsible for providing a new seat for their child. If a vehicle has been in a crash and the child seat was installed in the vehicle at the time of the accident, the owner should check with their insurance company to have the seat replaced. Cornell Police will work with outside agencies to help families in need of child safety seats when programs are available.
